Who We Are
Deffren Machine Tool Service Inc. dba/AKRO Tool Company is comprised of 3 divisions - a manufacturing job shop, a welding/fabricating shop (AKRO Tool Company) and the machine tool service and repair division (Deffren Machine Tool Service Inc.)
How We Started
Starting as a small job shop for machine work and repair services, AKRO Tool Company was founded in 1960 by Ralph Snider. In 1984, Ken Johnson, Ralph's son-in-law, took over the operations and steadily continued to grow this thriving business. In an effort to retire, Ken began the search for someone who had the same values and morals that AKRO had since its beginning.
Where We Are Now
In 2012, Richard Deffren purchased 52 year old AKRO Tool Co Inc. expanding his service, repair, and maintenance business to include machining (both manual and CNC), welding, and fabrication. AKRO Tool Company is located in Fairfield, Ohio. Our facility is over 11,500 square feet and there are plans to expand in the near future by adding an additional 6,000 square feet, which will become our welding and fabricating shop. We are able to handle small one of a kind jobs to limited production runs - small to large welded assemblies and structures.
Deffren Machine Tool Service Inc. dba/AKRO Tool Company, is your industrial machine shop for superior prototype work, machine repairs and custom fabrications. We are able to handle any of your machining and engineering needs from tooling and fixtures to weldments and frame works. We have the capability to perform jobs that are production runs as well as one of a kind or small jobs.
Due to the large numbers of manufacturing businesses that have left the area, we have had to adapt to meet the needs of our existing customers while establishing good relationships with new ones.
We have outstanding relationships with various vendors which allows us to obtain the best price for you when outside processing is necessary.
