Who We Are
Starting as a small job shop for machine work and repair services, AKRO Tool Company was founded in 1960 by Ralph Snider. In 1984, Ken Johnson, Ralph's son-in-law, took over the operations and steadily continued to grow this thriving business. In an effort to retire, Ken began the search for someone who had the same values and morals that AKRO had since its beginning. In June of 2012, Richard Deffren (Deffren Machine Tool Service, Inc.) purchased AKRO Tool adding this side of machining to his existing CNC machine support business.
Deffren Machine Tool Service, Inc. dba/AKRO Tool Company, located in Fairfield, Ohio is your industrial machine shop for superior prototype work, machine repairs and custom fabrications. We are able to handle any of your machining and engineering needs from tooling and fixtures to weldments and frame works. We have the capability to perform jobs that are production runs as well as one of a kind or small jobs.
Due to the large numbers of manufacturing businesses that have left the area, we have had to adapt to meet the needs of our existing customers while establishing good relationships with new ones.
Our manufacturing facility is currently 10,000 sq. ft. with plans to expand this by adding an additional 6,000 sq.ft. Presently we employ a total of 14. This includes traveling support staff, machinists and welders.
We have outstanding relationships with various vendors which allows us to obtain the best price for you when outside processing is necessary.
